A Consonance Of Scotch and Cigarettes

She hadn’t quite put her finger on it completely
Looking intently upon him while he sips his scotch
The certain way he stands out
Never one to back away from a challenge
Never settling for less
Living life to hilt…or so it appears
Yet the craving in his eyes reveals the elegies within his heart
A longing to once again know touch…intimacy
Having long ago, abstained from anonymous machinations
Fragments from far too many cold nights spent…
…dawdling in peculiarities and masochistic forbearance
Burdens his contemplation
Yet, as the plum from her last exhale dissipates into the ambiance
She recognizes he has become attuned…
…to the vibrations of her own tristesse
Breathing in his aura
Slowly surrendering to their mutual yearnings
Her hesitancy is now, much like ice cubes…
…melting away into the warmth of his attentiveness
Desire no longer smoldering in a cloud of suppressed emotion
While the ashes from her scarred past drop quietly into irrelevance
Anxious moments are distilling into clarity as…
…they both realize the expression of love still agrees with them

Stillness In The Storm

from the book Spirit, Rhythms, Words

darkness rising with the sun
their bodies entwined
he smiles cautiously so as not to waken her
been staring at her for hours
searching his soul, wondering why the constellations . . .
thought of him and sent him this angel
encased in love impeccable
melancholy, sulking
cherishing her grace, questioning his worthiness
soon she will not be with him
and he begins to feel the void
. . . her absence will bring . . .
stifled by visions, anguish in monochrome
quickly in his mind he creates an alternate reality
one where the order of all things is intact
either that or tears
can’t let her see him cry
she is his foundation, he is her strength
still sleeping adjusting herself in his grasp
basking in
his protection, his dutifulness, his . . . .
. . . overwhelmed as he can feel her . . . .
CERTAINTY
droplets of rain sprinkle on her dream eternity
against his chest hearing the thunder of his heart
she can sense the storms imminence
couldn’t hold it back
his tears turning into rain, the rain becoming showers
her eyes open to . . . . . completion
stillness amidst the downpour

Destitution

(from the book Spirit, Rhythms, Words)

she never has learned to trust
existing only to satisfy lust
fate had already played it’s hand
always in the clutches of an abusive man
for her love has never been right
no longer is it worth the fight
pain and disdain
it’s all one and the same
this she feels towards everyone
all the hopes and dreams she ever spoke of
were either stolen or arrived broken
the childhood that won’t go away
only ego’s, libido’s, and lonely hearts appear
unanswered prayers tearing her apart
will another loving heart ever come near?
she arrives on the strip again and again
those dangerous inclinations of her evil twin
this, the only place where she thrives
fast money, faceless love, recurring nightmares
from out of nowhere another shadow appears
willing to pay for play in the alley way
the fee is tendered
her services rendered
now while watching him walk away
her emptiness inside must still be assuaged

Hopeless Romantic

(a Cinquain)

music
romantic tones
a toast, dancing, kissing
 lacking only in stamina
more wine

Visitation Rites

(from the book Spirit, Rhythms, Words)

she had to have known I was watching her
every night alone
sitting right there under the moonlight
her beauty impeccable
always so calm
at ease within the night air
self assured
how could I help but to fall in love
on that night absolute silence
she must have felt my presence
because there is no such thing
screams of fear cannot be heard in quiet vicinities
she craved my debauchery
as I came up behind her
affirming our desire for each other
I claimed her as mine forever
she offered no resistance
I took her to what has become our special place
asphyxiating my determination
that my spirit may unite with her soul
her love reciprocated by the look of horror in her eyes
until that moment
I had yet to experience such totality
she’s resting comfortably now
the prettiest of them all so far
I will visit her often

Oh No! (My alter ego has taken over)

(last year)

Photobucket

What up wit 'ch'all
Don't be frightened I'm Rorys' alter-ego Frank N. Stien
but they call me Funk.
Thus my theme music in da background.

I'm taking over da blog spot here
cause I gots something to 'splain to you.
You see I give Rory a break.
I only mess wit him once a year and that's on Halloween.
...and I'ma tell you straight up,
I'm thinking 'bout only one thang.
Finding my bride.
Are you down to be the Bride of Frankenstien?

Photobucket

Forgive me for being so aggressive and..
I'll try not to make my words excessive
Just give me a chance on dis one night..
'cause I'm sure my bite
will be something you like
Much better than candy
More like a fine brandy,  ya feel me!

Photobucket

And we can cast each other under our own little spells
...giving new meaning to the phrase "I'll see you in hell"
And when the sun rises and I disappear
That will be my voice in your mind that you hear

(this year)

Photobucket

What up wit 'chall, this is Frank N.
Creeping up on you one mogin’
I know you ain’t forgot
That I comes around on Halloween
...gets my drank on and blows up da spot

As soon as the sun fades
I gots to put on my shades
And like the kids out there
Searching for candy
I,ma be out there tryna snatch me some panties
So beware

Photobucket

So what, you think its odd
That I rise up from the dead to find me a braud
So I can drive my stake through her body
And hear her scream out,"
oh my gawd"!

I likes dat shit, ya dig

So if you out there thinking you wanna get freaky
You might want to consider getting wit me
We can bite, and scratch, and bump to my theme music
I’ll fill up and guarantee, you’ll love how I do dis
Then I’ll go back to my coffin saying to myself “I Love Halloween”

Rory/Frank N.
