In Deference

her eyes, hushed
although within them
I recognize her sagacity
often I wonder if her adulation I deserve
by means unbeknownst, I had fallen off (again)
my aspirations, quelled
reduced to muted longings
indifference the result
seeing past her own disillusions
breaking free of spatial confines
always thinking about me
always directing towards me
...her primal energy
I grasp a hold
the tempest slowly dissolving

Deadly Silence

laying awake, restless
watching the dramatization of my emotions
…as they careen across my mind’s eye
once flames of inspiration burning inside me
now, only embers
trying desperately, hoping to convince myself
these words, these feelings
…were I to mention them
would not be construed as malignant
they embody my affection
an agape for so long I’ve held
in hope that you may come to know
