Damn You!

Found myself sorting through all my mind clutter
Much of which had been
…long stored away in the recesses of my mind

Curious….or shall I say…Intriguing,
Her recognizing my preference to remain alone
…and not mistaking it for my being “lonely”
In keeping her distance…

…she has somehow gotten so close
Closer than I would once ever allow
How? Why?
She hasn't seen me at my polars end
Knows nothing of my pointless grumblings
I would never be what she wants
Damn her!
All this….juxtaposing going on in my head
As we interact
Our thoughts, indeed our individual personifications…
…often appear as mirror images of each other

Differentiated only by the slightest of nuances
I wasn’t wanting, I wasn’t looking
…but now I clearly see, all the possibilities
Damn you!

The Capricious Mist Above

Bashful Clouds
Looming once again
Sometimes they bring thunder

Sometimes they loiter aimlessly
…leaving behind their cascades
This time, in the cool of the evening
They’ve come rather peacefully

Quietly passing through
…as if they did not want to be noticed

For a while I gaze into their gentle demeanor
Then curl up under a blanket

…and sink into indolence

Passing Glances

Now I remember
I was there briefly during your youth
I appeared one night as a howling wind
…tapping against the glass on your window
You were so….shy but very self-conscious
It was not my intention to frighten you
I could only smile when you hid beneath the covers
…demanding that I “go away”
The raindrops told me of the furtive glance you gave
…as you rose your head after I had indeed moved on
They mentioned the hours spent with you
Calming your mind, rinsing away your fears
Amusing I found it…
…how they would constantly nourish and protect you
They told me you were not like all the other seedlings
…that one day you would blossom into a most beautiful flower
One that will stand boldly against worldly elements
Now, in looking upon you
I can see…they were correct
