Flesh Wounds

I remember, once upon a time
when my existence was solely comprised of
…light and consciousness
moving freely amongst the heavens
I looked down upon the earth and became
Africa
from there I had been exported, deported
forcefully incorporated into a system
that tried it’s damnedest to extort
….every ounce of my dignity
found myself enslaved
…and wasn’t standing for it
I became enraged
an enmity had risen within me
discovered that somehow I had became
…my own worst enemy
society had my number
eight-five-five-five-zero-three
(committed to memory)
thought they had a snitch
quite amusing how they got it all twisted
especially considering how many times
…I came so close to putting someone six feet under
finally I stood out in the wind
quieted my mind and took the time to listen
I was advised to not use weapons of fear
instead , was urged to wield my pen
that if I would be patient
I could rest assured  that one day
my words would be heard
still, I kept hearing noises
…and some strange voices
growing ever so tired of (constantly) being deceived
…of making bad choices, of ingesting earthly poison
had to reach….but I didn’t dare reach out

(as no one would listen)
so I reached deep within
…and managed to summon the strength
now my life is all about redemption
while Truth serves as my stipend
living within strife
…was not a good way for each new day to arrive
particularly after I came back to remembrance
that there is much more, than this life
forgotten now, about the matters of the flesh
I once so diligently pursued
the scars they left behind were merely
…flesh wounds

Synchronous Envisage

When a man takes the time to consider the idealization of atmospheric motion
Especially focusing on the behavior of one isolated parcel
Acknowledging it's ease of fluctuations on both the vertical and horizontal planes
It's density and intensity
How It may react when subjected to forces acting on it as well as against it
He thus begins to obtain a qualitative understanding and interpretation
Which moves him forward to the visualization
...of establishing a harmonic union with such motion
Leading him to consider the addition of other variables to the equation
Such as the infusion of certain material derivatives
Which would affect change in acceleration and velocity
After establishing spatial compatibility
He must be aware of sustaining a balanced friction force
...that will adapt with the temporal changes in pressures gradients
Thus allowing a union that has arrived at a dynamic equilibrium with the parcel

Love Me Some You

(spoken lyrics)

(open)

As I walk along the shore and look out into the vastness of the sea. Listening intently upon my heart, as it responds to the urgings of the ocean winds. I started thinking about how love is, or at least should be, all encompassing. Yet, many people try to quantify it. Then I thought of how so many people come into and touch our lives. Don't we find ourselves loving each of them a certain way?

(verse 1)

Thinking of you
Living for you
Praying for you
Smiling at you
Laughing with you
Believing in you
Everything you feel
…I feel it too
Cried over you
Funny how so many things...
...reminds me of you

What would I do
…if there wasn't a you
I may have already been dead
...had it not for you
Whatever I have...
…I will share it to you
If need be
...I would even kill for you
For you, there's nothing in this world I wouldn't do
You're happiness, I will always see to
Simply because
I love me some you

(verse 2)

I Love you enough to argue with you
Look you in the eyes and tell you the truth
Realize when I’m wrong
…and seek forgiveness from you
Give you your space
…and let you do what you do
Even on those days
…when I got to have me some you
Remember when we sat all night
…and starred at the moon
Never uttering a word
…because we already knew
Whether you’re near me or not
…with your spirit I'm always attuned
Thinking of you
Living for you
Praying for you
Smiling at you
Laughing with you
Believing in you
Everything you feel
…I feel it too
Thankful for you
You're happiness, I will always see to
Simply because
I love me some you
